This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System 1.6.0.26. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the MFileUploadController class. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. When parsing the fileName parameter, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call.
