In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: pds_core: Fix possible double free in error handling path When auxiliary_device_add() returns error and then calls auxiliary_device_uninit(), Callback function pdsc_auxbus_dev_release calls kfree(padev) to free memory. We shouldn't call kfree(padev) again in the error handling path. Fix this by cleaning up the redundant kfree() and putting the error handling back to where the errors happened.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal: intel: hfi: Add syscore callbacks for system-wide PM The kernel allocates a memory buffer and provides its location to the hardware, which uses it to update the HFI table. This allocation occurs during boot and remains constant throughout runtime. When resuming from hibernation, the restore kernel allocates a second memory buffer and reprograms the HFI hardware with the new location as part of a normal boot. The location of the second memory buffer may differ from the one allocated by the image kernel. When the restore kernel transfers control to the image kernel, its HFI buffer becomes invalid, potentially leading to memory corruption if the hardware writes to it (the hardware continues to use the buffer from the restore kernel). It is also possible that the hardware "forgets" the address of the memory buffer when resuming from "deep" suspend. Memory corruption may also occur in such a scenario. To prevent the described memory corruption, disable HFI when preparing to suspend or hibernate. Enable it when resuming. Add syscore callbacks to handle the package of the boot CPU (packages of non-boot CPUs are handled via CPU offline). Syscore ops always run on the boot CPU. Additionally, HFI only needs to be disabled during "deep" suspend and hibernation. Syscore ops only run in these cases. [ rjw: Comment adjustment, subject and changelog edits ]

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: llc: call sock_orphan() at release time syzbot reported an interesting trace [1] caused by a stale sk->sk_wq pointer in a closed llc socket. In commit ff7b11aa481f ("net: socket: set sock->sk to NULL after calling proto_ops::release()") Eric Biggers hinted that some protocols are missing a sock_orphan(), we need to perform a full audit. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pds_core: Prevent race issues involving the adminq There are multiple paths that can result in using the pdsc's adminq. [1] pdsc_adminq_isr and the resulting work from queue_work(), i.e. pdsc_work_thread()->pdsc_process_adminq() [2] pdsc_adminq_post() When the device goes through reset via PCIe reset and/or a fw_down/fw_up cycle due to bad PCIe state or bad device state the adminq is destroyed and recreated. A NULL pointer dereference can happen if [1] or [2] happens after the adminq is already destroyed. In order to fix this, add some further state checks and implement reference counting for adminq uses. Reference counting was used because multiple threads can attempt to access the adminq at the same time via [1] or [2]. Additionally, multiple clients (i.e. pds-vfio-pci) can be using [2] at the same time. The adminq_refcnt is initialized to 1 when the adminq has been allocated and is ready to use. Users/clients of the adminq (i.e. [1] and [2]) will increment the refcnt when they are using the adminq. When the driver goes into a fw_down cycle it will set the PDSC_S_FW_DEAD bit and then wait for the adminq_refcnt to hit 1. Setting the PDSC_S_FW_DEAD before waiting will prevent any further adminq_refcnt increments. Waiting for the adminq_refcnt to hit 1 allows for any current users of the adminq to finish before the driver frees the adminq. Once the adminq_refcnt hits 1 the driver clears the refcnt to signify that the adminq is deleted and cannot be used. On the fw_up cycle the driver will once again initialize the adminq_refcnt to 1 allowing the adminq to be used again.

This means btrfs_submit_bio() would split the bio, and trigger endio function for both of the two halves. However scrub_submit_initial_read() would only expect the endio function to be called once, not any more. This means the first endio function would already free the bbio::bio, leaving the bvec freed, thus the 2nd endio call would lead to use-after-free. [FIX] - Make sure scrub_read_endio() only updates bits in its range Since we may read less than 64K at the end of the chunk, we should not touch the bits beyond chunk boundary. - Make sure scrub_submit_initial_read() only to read the chunk range This is done by calculating the real number of sectors we need to read, and add sector-by-sector to the bio. Thankfully the scrub read repair path won't need extra fixes: - scrub_stripe_submit_repair_read() With above fixes, we won't update error bit for range beyond chunk, thus scrub_stripe_submit_repair_read() should never submit any read beyond the chunk.

To address this properly, in ZC case, a node that represents the frag being removed has to be pulled out of xskb_list. Introduce appropriate xsk helpers to do such node operation and use them accordingly within bpf_xdp_adjust_tail().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: reject QUEUE/DROP verdict parameters This reverts commit e0abdadcc6e1. core.c:nf_hook_slow assumes that the upper 16 bits of NF_DROP verdicts contain a valid errno, i.e. -EPERM, -EHOSTUNREACH or similar, or 0. Due to the reverted commit, its possible to provide a positive value, e.g. NF_ACCEPT (1), which results in use-after-free. Its not clear to me why this commit was made. NF_QUEUE is not used by nftables; "queue" rules in nftables will result in use of "nft_queue" expression. If we later need to allow specifiying errno values from userspace (do not know why), this has to call NF_DROP_GETERR and check that "err <= 0" holds true.

Now the sii902x bridge is ready from DRM's perspective. - sii902x calls sii902x_audio_codec_init() and platform_device_register_data() - The registration of the audio platform device causes probing of the deferred devices. - tidss probes, which eventually causes sii902x_bridge_get_edid() to be called. - sii902x_bridge_get_edid() tries to use the i2c to read the edid. However, the sii902x driver has not set up the i2c part yet, leading to the crash. Fix this by moving the drm_bridge_add() to the end of the sii902x_init(), which is also at the very end of sii902x_probe().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: fix inconsistent per-file compression format EROFS can select compression algorithms on a per-file basis, and each per-file compression algorithm needs to be marked in the on-disk superblock for initialization. However, syzkaller can generate inconsistent crafted images that use an unsupported algorithmtype for specific inodes, e.g. use MicroLZMA algorithmtype even it's not set in `sbi->available_compr_algs`. This can lead to an unexpected "BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference" if the corresponding decompressor isn't built-in. Fix this by checking against `sbi->available_compr_algs` for each m_algorithmformat request. Incorrect !erofs_sb_has_compr_cfgs preset bitmap is now fixed together since it was harmless previously.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix stack corruption When tc filters are first added to a net device, the corresponding local port gets bound to an ACL group in the device. The group contains a list of ACLs. In turn, each ACL points to a different TCAM region where the filters are stored. During forwarding, the ACLs are sequentially evaluated until a match is found. One reason to place filters in different regions is when they are added with decreasing priorities and in an alternating order so that two consecutive filters can never fit in the same region because of their key usage. In Spectrum-2 and newer ASICs the firmware started to report that the maximum number of ACLs in a group is more than 16, but the layout of the register that configures ACL groups (PAGT) was not updated to account for that. It is therefore possible to hit stack corruption [1] in the rare case where more than 16 ACLs in a group are required. Fix by limiting the maximum ACL group size to the minimum between what the firmware reports and the maximum ACLs that fit in the PAGT register. Add a test case to make sure the machine does not crash when this condition is hit.
